Governmental Affairs &
Business Development Manager

Full-Time, Munich, Berlin

TYTAN is a young deep-tech defense startup that develops a cost-effective counter-drone solution to protect people and critical infrastructure. We are an international team of ambitious engineers who combine expertise in autonomous systems and UAV design.

 

We are looking for a new team member who is eager to make a real difference! As a Governmental Affairs & Business Development Manager, you will drive our engagement with key governmental and institutional stakeholders, expand our business development efforts, and shape our strategic positioning in the defense and security sector.

Your roadmap to make an impact:

  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key government entities, regulatory bodies, and defense organizations in Germany and internationally, while actively building a strong stakeholder network

  • Identify and actively pursue sales opportunities in the defense and security markets, focusing on public sector contracts, strategic alliances, and key client acquisitions.

  • Monitor and influence defense and security policies relevant to TYTAN’s mission, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and industry standards

  • Engage in industry conferences, governmental meetings, and working groups to position TYTAN as a key player in the defense sector

  • Work closely with our leadership team, engineers, and external partners to integrate governmental insights into our business and product strategy

  • The role is based in Berlin, with regular presence at TYTAN HQ in Munich required

Who you are:

  • Background in Political Science, International Relations, Business, or Law, ideally with a focus on defense, security, or public policy

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience either in a government-related environment (e.g. Parliament, think tank or government agencies) or within the defence industry

  • Strong network within governmental institutions, defense organizations, or regulatory bodies

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and networking skills to build and maintain high-level relationships

  • Extraordinary ability to take on open-ended problems in unstructured environments.

  • Adaptive and introspective; willing to learn, teach, lead and follow

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently

  • Fluent in both German and English, additional languages are a plus

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly for business purposes
